Running Out Of Gas

There is nothing as abrupt

As cooking gas running out on you

When food is half cooked

Half raw, just a mess,

After pouring flour into water

And the meat is reddish grey

Your stomach is very empty

And the shops are all closed.

Your house has everything

That cannot be eaten uncooked

There is nothing as abrupt

As cooking gas running out on you

And do you know humans      

Humans run on gas

It’s the breath of God

That keeps them running

In and out they breath to live

And though with a cooking gas

You could get a regulator

To monitor the level remaining

Not with a human soul.

Day in day out

Souls run out of gas

Abruptly

In the middle of cooking

In the middle of life

Just like that

The cylinder runs empty

And life ends

You and I have no idea

At what level is our gas cylinder

And so as you breath in and out

Running up and down

Doing this and that

Just know at some point

Your gas cylinder will run empty

The question is,

Will the food be cooked?
