Soul Erosion

There once was a soul
That was beat and soul.
A soul,
That laughed effortlessly.
So energetic and jovial,
A walking rhythmic tune.

There once was a soul
That was hot and cool.
A soul,
That loved immensely.
So passionate and smiley,
A tropical hugging bear.

There once was a soul
That was free and tree.
A soul
That lived completely.
So creative and real,
A porridge of nectar.

But then life happened....

The wind of life
Blew away the humus
Taking away the humor.

The rain of life
Drilled some furrows
Adding within some sorrows

The exodus of life
Squeezed out the juices
Drying up the choices.

The beasts of the jungle
Crushed the sweet pulp
Destroying the peep.

What a soul erosion?

I know of a soul
Dark and foul
A soul
So full of fool
A living dead.

Let us build the gabions
And fill in the furrows.
Let us plant some wind breakers
And spread out some mulching.
Let us plant a grass cover
Where beasts once trodden.
And let the land that lay bare
Now Be cultivated.

For there is now a soul
That is beat and soul.
